Split Rock Lighthouse, MN
The U.S. Lighthouse Service finished Split Rock Light Station in 1910, built after a November 1905 gale wrecked nearly 30 ships on Lake Superior. Its beam once put out 1,000 watts, and the original Fresnel lens is still visible at the top of the tower.
